Description

Early 19th century with later additions and alterations. Single storey with attic, 3-bay cottage. Finely droved ashlar with polished dressings to S elevation; roughly stugged ashlar with droved ashlar dressings to side and rear elevations. Base course.

S ELEVATION: advanced and gabled bay to centre with cavetto-moulded doorpiece with deep-set boarded door with wrought-iron hinges and 2-pane rectangular fanlight; lateral window to gablehead. Hexagonal-headed window to each flanking bay with polished margin, also hexagonal-headed.

E ELEVATION: gabled 2-bay with window at ground of each bay (blinded to left); segmental-arched window to attic, in gablehead.

N ELEVATION: single storey half-piended addition to centre. Timber-boarded lean-to addition to re-entrant NW angle and projecting to N from right of addition.

6-pane timber casement windows to S elevation; lattice window to gablehead to centre of S elevation; 16-pane timber sash and case windows to E elevation. Formerly slate, now felt-tile roof (possibly formerly with jerkin-headed gables to side elevations); boxed attic addition to centre to rear, between 2 brick wallhead stacks to rear.

INTERIOR: not seen, 1996. Panelled shutters in place, 1996.
