Description
Fairs Cottage is a single-storey, three-bay cottage built around 1820. The exterior is harled with tooled ashlar margins. The central entrance is located in a slightly advanced bay and is fronted by a canted portico supported by four tapering, facetted wooden shafts. On either side of the entrance are ashlar canopied windows with chamfered margins, and there is a similar window in the gables, featuring deeply chamfered angle margins. The upper lights of the casement windows still have lattice-pane glazing. The cottage has a shallow piended slate roof with deep joisted eaves. There is a later wing at the rear and a modern extension to the west.
