Description
This late 18th century semi-detached tenement at 91-95 High Street, Dunblane, features two storeys and a basement, with four bays and a shop on the ground floor. The entrances on the ground and first floors are vertically aligned, with a curved staircase leading to the first floor entrance. The building is harled with painted stone dressings, and the principal southeast elevation has architraved openings with chamfered reveals, except for the later shop front.
On the southeast elevation, there is a two-leaf boarded timber door to the right of centre, leading to the first floor via a curved staircase that has later 20th century railings. The first floor entrance has a replacement part-glazed door. The ground floor features windows in the flanking bays, with the right bay's window enlarged. A shop front, likely from the late 19th century, occupies the outer left bay, showcasing a large window with an adjoining entrance to the right, topped by a corniced fascia board. There is a wrought-iron bracket of Art Nouveau design for suspending a sign in the bay to the left of centre on the first floor. The basement is only visible externally on the outer right.
The first floor has 12-pane timber sash and case windows, while the ground floor has single-pane replacement windows. The roof is covered with grey slate, featuring a harled coped gablehead stack to the southwest, a harled coped ridge stack, and round cans. The interior was not seen in 2001.
