Description
This late 18th century building at 7-11 New Bridge Street in Ayr is a three-storey and attic tenement featuring shops on the ground floor. It is constructed of painted ashlar and includes cill courses on the first and second floors, a bracketed cornice, and a blocking course.
The northwest entrance elevation has a central timber door with a two-pane letterbox fanlight, flanked by two shopfronts. The shopfronts have glazed timber doors leading to the inner bays and letterbox fanlights on the shop to the left, with shop windows in the outer bays. The first and second floors have regular fenestration, with two piended dormers located at the outer right and left of the attic.
The ground floor has shop windows, while the first and second floors feature 12-pane timber sash and case windows. The attic has plate glass and four-pane windows. The roof is covered in grey slate, with a stone skew to the right, corniced stacks, and circular cans.
The interiors were not seen in 1998.
