Description
13 New Bridge Street in Ayr is a late 18th century, three-storey, five-bay tenement building that features commercial premises on the ground floor, situated on a corner site. The building is finished in painted ashlar, with harl on the southwest (High Street) elevation, and includes an eaves course.
On the northwest (entrance) elevation, there is a central round-arched entrance with a keyblock and additional blocks at the springing line. The entrance has a timber door and fanlight. To the left, there is a timber door with a letterbox fanlight leading to a public bar, along with two single windows on the outer left at ground level. To the outer right of the shopfront, there is another entrance with a glazed timber door and letterbox fanlight, alongside a shopfront window to the left. The first and second floors have regular fenestration.
The southwest (High Street) elevation is blank, with evidence of an earlier adjoining structure. The ground floor features modern glazing, while the first floor has plate glass timber sash and case windows, with a 12-pane window in the penultimate bay to the right. The second floor also has 12-pane windows. The roof is covered with grey slate and includes a rooflight, corniced stacks, and circular cans.
The interiors have not been seen since 1998.
