Description
This early 19th century house at 7 South Harbour Street in Ayr is a three-storey, three-bay rectangular-plan structure that is part of a terrace. The entrance elevation features painted render, while the rear is finished in painted harl. It has a base course and painted margins around the window openings.
The northeast (entrance) elevation has a central square-headed entrance with a two-leaf timber door and an infilled fanlight, flanked by shop windows. The upper floors display regular fenestration.
On the southwest (boat vennal) elevation, there are entrances located at the center and right, with timber doors (the right door is two-leaf and has a multi-paned fanlight). There is a single window to the left, and the upper floors again have regular fenestration.
The ground floor features shop windows, while the upper floors have plate glass timber sash and case windows on the entrance elevation, predominantly with eight panes on the rear elevation. The roof is covered with grey slate and includes a rooflight.
The interior was not seen in 1998.
