Description

Circa 1870. 2-storey, 3-bay police station. Ashlar,

channelled to ground, also to pilasters flanking central

bay and angle pilasters in 1st floor. Shallow projecting

central bay, with door recessed under plain set-back arch,

the latter with "County Police Station" inscribed on it.

2 flanking square-headed windows. Channelled voussoirs to

all openings on ground floor. Band course between storeys.

3 windows in 1st floor with moulded aprons. All windows

with lying-pane glazing. Entablature and central pannelled

parapet flanked by pedestals with decorative caps.

Corniced stacks over angle pilasters. South elevation

ashlar with lying-pane glazing to windows, blind window

in 1st floor. North and West elevations rubble. Piended

slate roof.
