Description

The Crown Tavern, located at 17 Hope Street in Lanark, dates from around 1830. This is a two-storey, three-bay house constructed of painted droved ashlar. It features a painted plinth, window and angle margins, and an eaves course. The central entrance is highlighted by a pilastered doorpiece. The building has straight skews and end stacks, topped with a slate roof. Additionally, there are extensive late 19th century rear buildings and a hall.
