Police Station, Castle Street, Dornoch

The police station on Castle Street in Dornoch is a late 19th-century building that stands two stories high and features three bays. Its front is made of tooled ashlar, while the sides are constructed from coursed rubble. The building has a shallow, advanced central gable bay that includes a door set in a segmental-headed recess, flanked by lights. Above this door is a segmental-headed window with a hoodmould. The outer windows on the first floor extend through the wallhead and are topped with finialled gablets. At the rear, there is a two-storeyed gabled wing accompanied by a single-storey addition, both featuring four-pane glazing. The structure has crowsteps, corniced end stacks, and slate roofs, along with a low coped garden wall.
