Description
This building at 53 Burnbank Road in Hamilton is a late classical single-storey villa dating from around 1830. It features a painted exterior with contrasting margins and has a two-window and central door frontage. The advanced central entrance bay includes a panelled door flanked by anta pilasters and topped with a mutule entablature. The flanking windows are architraved and have arched lintels adorned with rosettes and corbelled cills. The corners of the building are accentuated with banded pilaster angles and mutuled cornices. To the left, there is a single-storey, one-window piended block that is set back. The villa has slated roofs and grouped ashlar stacks with linked square shafts. Additionally, there is a low garden wall that features painted gatepiers.
