Description
88 Prestwick Road is an early 19th century, two-storey, three-bay classical villa with a single-storey wing on the right. The building is constructed from squared painted sandstone and features a base course, a first-floor cill course, an eaves course, a cornice, a blocking course, and pilaster quoins.
On the northwest (entrance) elevation, there is a central doorpiece with fluted columns, a mutulated cornice, and a block-pediment above a boarded square-headed entrance. A single window is aligned above the entrance on the first floor, with flanking single windows on both floors. The single-storey wing to the right has a tripartite window.
The southwest (side) elevation has blind openings on the first floor at the outer left and right of the main house, and there is a square-headed entrance leading to a lean-to attached to the single-storey wing.
On the southeast (rear) elevation, there is an off-centre square-headed entrance, a central stair window, and two single windows flanking it, along with an additional circular opening to the left of the stair window. The single-storey wing to the left has a single window.
The northeast elevation was not visible in 1999. The villa has boarded windows, a piended slate roof with wallhead stacks and both circular and polygonal cans, as well as cast-iron rainwater goods. The interior was not seen in 1999.
