Busheyhill Street, Cambuslang, Glasgow

The Cambuslang Subscription School, built in 1848, features an inscription panel in the center of its facade that reads "Cambuslang Subscription School 1848." This building is designed in a symmetrical late Georgian style and consists of two stories with a prominent three-bay center. The ends of the building are proportioned as single bays, with doors and windows fitted into each at ground level. The doors are notably tall, particularly on the left side where the ground slopes away, allowing for a consistent lintel height across the facade. The ground floor windows have raised flat margins that extend to the base, while the first floor includes a sill course with droved dressings. The main wall is constructed of squared rubble, and there is an unmoulded main cornice along with a blocking course. The center features a raised element that may serve as a stack base. The building is topped with a slate roof and has an end stack.
