5 Beech Avenue, Central Avenue, Cambuslang, Glasgow

5 Beech Avenue is a symmetrical villa built around 1880, featuring two stories and three bays. It faces east and is situated on a corner plot. The main elevation has all openings topped with stilted flat arches, with window jambs and mullions on the canted ground floor windows, and the columns of the doorcase adorned with foliated capitals. The exterior is finished with stugged ashlar coursers and polished dressings, and it includes plate glass sash windows. The slate roof is detailed with decorative eaves brackets and has end stacks. On the south side, there is a shallow two-storey canted window and three small-paned windows, all of which are later additions. At the rear, there is a low service court.

The gatepiers at the street corner are contemporary with the house and reflect a design similar to that found in Pollokshields, as is the house itself, which is reminiscent of those on Matilda Road. However, the walls of the gatepiers are made of rough-hewn rubble with recessed pointing and likely date from the time of the house's alterations, along with the wrought-iron gates.
