Description
The Orchard Stable Block, built around 1871, is a former stable block located at 21 Auchingramont Road in Hamilton. It is a single storey building with an attic, constructed from snecked stugged rubble with ashlar dressings. The design features an asymmetrical gabled section that has a buttress on the right side and a large semi-elliptical keyblocked arch with a hoodmould. The central door is bipartite and includes an arched drip mould, while there are two pedimented gablet dormers on the right. The rear gable has two windows and rendered additions. The roof is slated, with gablet skewputts and stepped skews.
