Description
29 Auchingramont Road in Hamilton is a mid 19th century single-storey and attic building, designed in a late classical style. The front is asymmetrical and features polished ashlar stonework. At the center, there is an arched doorpiece supported by Doric pilasters, topped with a crenellated parapet. To the right, there is a canted three-light bay with a similar parapet, while to the left, there is a tripartite window. The frieze of the main cornice has small quatrefoiled circles. Above the doorpiece, a central dormer is shaped like a gothic arch.
To the right, there is a recessed screen wall with a modern garage opening, and to the left, a piended wing with a door. The northeast gable features an arched window, and the rear has a raised central window with a catslide roof and stained glass, along with two canted dormers. The gabled roof is slated with straight skews and has corniced ashlar stacks at the gables.
