Description
The Portvaults, located at 116 High Street in Lanark, is an earlier 19th-century building. It has two storeys and features four windows facing High Street, one window at a curved angle, and four windows on the South Vennel side. The exterior is finished in stucco, painted black with white joints to resemble ashlar. The ground floor has been altered, while the first floor windows have margins at angles and are flanked by a curved bay. All windows are sashes with 12-pane glazing. There is a gablet wallhead stack above the right window on the South Vennel elevation, along with end stacks, straight skews, and a slate roof.
