Description
Duncan House, located on Chalkheugh Terrace in Kelso, is an earlier 19th century building that stands two storeys tall with an attic. The north front features droved ashlar stonework with polished dressings and consists of three bays. The central door is framed by a pilastered doorpiece. The ground floor windows are adorned with corniced architraves and there is a cill-course at the first floor. The original windows include 12-pane double sash glazing on the ground floor and lying panes on the first floor. The building has channelled quoins at the corners, a moulded eaves course, and square rendered stacks at the angles. The west front has two bays with similar detailing and is topped with a piended slated roof that includes piended attic dormers on both the north and south sides.
