Presbytery, St Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Cadzow Street, Hamilton

The presbytery of St Mary's Roman Catholic Church on Cadzow Street in Hamilton is a late 19th-century building designed in an L-plan. It is two stories high with an attic, constructed from bull-faced snecked rubble with ashlar dressings and a stone-cleaned finish. The roof is piended and covered with slate. The windows are primarily single and paired sash and case types, although most have been replaced with uPVC frames that are not in keeping with the original character. The building features bracketted eaves, a harled gable with plain bargeboards at the front, widely coped skews, and corniced stacks.

On the front elevation, there is a door to a porch that is recessed to the right and connects with St Mary's Church. To the left on the ground floor, there is a projecting bipartite window alongside a single window. The first floor has a corbelled section with a bipartite window and a single window, while the gable features a bipartite window in the roof space.

The side and rear elevations include various windows and a dormer at the rear. At the northeast angle of the building, there is a similarly detailed structure with an entrance to Muir Street, which features a projecting stair tower topped with a polygonal roof and a lead finial, as well as roof ridge ventilators.

The interior details were not observed.
