Coach House, 35 Racecourse Road, Ayr

The Coach House at 35 Racecourse Road in Ayr dates from around 1820 and has undergone later alterations. This single-storey building, originally used as a coach house and stable, is constructed from rubble and features an eaves course and strip quoins.

On the northeast elevation, there is a central arched entrance with timber doors, topped by a ball-finialled pediment that includes a figurine. To the left of the entrance, there is a single louvred window. The northwest side elevation has a central Venetian window, flanked by two porthole windows, all of which have been infilled. The southeast side elevation features a central louvred timber door, while the southwest rear elevation has a square-headed central entrance. The building includes louvred openings, a slate piend roof, and cast-iron rainwater goods. The interior was not seen during the inspection in 1999.
