Description

The Coach House at Seasyde House in Errol dates from around 1800 and was altered in the late 20th century. This single-storey, 9-bay building is designed in an L-plan and features prominent pedimented arches. It is constructed from snecked rubble with droved margins and has an eaves course. The segmental arches are detailed with voussoirs.

On the northeast (principal) elevation, the design is symmetrical. The central bay has a slightly advanced cart arch that has been infilled with glass, along with a small round-headed window in the gablehead with a finial. There are windows in the flanking bays and outer arches, with the right side featuring a boarded timber door. A walled garden is located adjacent to the outer left side.

The southwest (entrance) elevation is also symmetrical, consisting of 10 bays. It includes a modern timber door and flanking windows in the bays to the left of the centre, mirrored by similar bays on the right, which also has an additional narrow light between the outer bays. There is a piended wing that projects at the outer left, featuring a wide opening on the left and three windows to the right on the return.

The northwest elevation is largely blank, with a timber pedestrian door positioned to the left of centre. The building features a 12-pane glazing pattern in its timber sash and case windows, while the infilled cart arches have fixed plate glass glazing. The roof is covered with grey slates and includes small cast-iron rooflights. The low coped ashlar stacks have cans, and the ashlar-coped skews are finished with flat skewputts.
