Coach House, Hillview, Main Street, Ormiston

The Coach House at Hillview on Main Street in Ormiston dates from the later 18th century. It is a two-storey, three-bay structure with a recent addition at the rear. The building is constructed of rubble freestone with ashlar dressings and features deeply droved quoins; the rear has been harled as part of a restoration process.

The north elevation has a central doorway with a stair window above it, a segmental carriage arch to the right, and a window to the left, along with windows in the outer bays on the first floor. There is a wallhead stack on the west side elevation. At the rear, there is a gabled two-storey projection and a pentice-roofed addition in the re-entrant angle.

The sash and case windows have a 12-pane glazing pattern and the roof is covered with grey slates.
