Description
The Dovecot at Waterybutts, dated 1733, is a roofless crowstepped lectern dovecot with a double chamber and a rectangular plan. It is constructed of rubble, featuring large squared rubble quoins and some ashlar dressings. The gablets are topped with ball finials, and the ashlar crowsteps and skewputts are marked with the dates '17' and '33'.
On the southeast elevation, there are two small doorways with metal doors at ground level, along with two rectangular flight holes positioned above. The southwest elevation has a paired arcaded flight hole at the center. The northwest elevation is blank and is topped with three gablets. The northeast elevation mirrors the southwest elevation.
Inside, the dovecot is lined with stone nesting boxes.
