Description
Muirhouses Farmhouse is a two-storey, three-bay L-plan farmhouse, likely built around 1834. The structure is made of squared and snecked rubble with ashlar dressings and features an eaves lintel course.
The southeast elevation is symmetrical, with a central door at the ground floor flanked by windows, and regular fenestration on the first floor. The southwest elevation has an advanced gable on the right, with windows on each floor to the left. There is consent for a sunroom addition under reference 01/00625/PUL.
On the northwest elevation, there is a mix of architectural elements, including an advanced gable on the left, a lean-to porch on the return to the right, and another lean-to bay at the far right. The northeast elevation features a blank gabled bay on the left, with a window to the right at ground level and two additional windows on the first floor.
The southeast elevation has plate glass glazing in timber sash and case windows, except for the ground floor window on the left, which has modern glazing. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are coped ashlar stacks with some cans and ashlar-coped skews.
The property is enclosed by coped rubble boundary walls.
