Description
7 Charlotte Street in Ayr is an early 19th-century, two-storey house with a basement, featuring three bays and forming part of a terrace. The exterior is made of tuck-pointed sandstone rubble, with a base course, eaves course, cornice, and blocking course. The window openings have painted margins.
On the north elevation, which is the entrance side, there is a central doorpiece with a cavetto-splayed, square-headed design. Steps lead up to a recessed timber door, which is topped by a letterbox fanlight. Above the door, there is a single window aligned with it on the first floor. The flanking bays have regular fenestration at both the ground and first floors, while the basement openings feature glass blocks.
The house has modern windows and a grey slate roof, with stone skews and corniced, gablehead brick stacks that have circular cans.
The interior was not seen in 1998.
