23 Wellington Square, Ayr

23 Wellington Square in Ayr is an early 19th-century, two-storey house with a basement, featuring three bays and designed in a classical style as part of a terrace. The exterior is finished in painted ashlar and includes a ground floor band course, eaves course, cornice, blocking course, and strip quoins. The window openings have painted margins.

On the north elevation, there is a central stepped platform that overhangs the basement. This features a corniced, block-pedimented doorpiece with a two-leaf timber door. Above this, at the first floor, is a single window aligned with the door, and below, in the basement, there is a glazed timber door. The flanking bays exhibit regular fenestration across the basement, ground, and first floors, with Venetian windows on the ground floor.

The windows are plate glass timber sash and case, with the outer right window in the basement having 12 panes. The interior was not seen in 1998.
