Description
21 Wellington Square is an early 19th-century, two-storey house with a basement and attic, forming part of a terrace. The building features a painted harl exterior, with a ground floor band course, eaves course, cornice, blocking course, and strip quoin on the outer right side. The window openings have painted margins.
On the north elevation, there is a central stepped platt that oversails the basement, with a corniced, block-pedimented doorpiece and a multi-paned letterbox fanlight. A single window is aligned above on the first floor, with a timber door below in the basement. The flanking bays have regular fenestration at the basement, ground, and first floors. The attic features two canted dormers on the outer left and right.
The windows are 12-pane timber sash and case, with 4-pane and 8-pane windows in the attic, and there is a rooflight. The roof is covered with grey slate, has coped stacks, and circular cans.
The interior was not seen in 1998. The property is also noted for its ashlar copes topped with iron railings.
