Description
22 Wellington Square is an early 19th-century, two-storey classical house with a basement (which is blocked) and an attic. It is part of a terrace and features a painted harl exterior. The building has an eaves course, cornice, blocking course, and strip quoins, with painted margins around the window surrounds.
The north (entrance) elevation has steps leading to a central entrance that features a pedimented, columnar doorpiece with a timber door and a letterbox fanlight. Above the entrance, there is a single window aligned with the first floor. Flanking the entrance are single windows at both the ground and first floors, while the basement is blocked. To the outer left, there is a boarded timber door at ground level, with a narrow single window aligned above at the first floor. The attic has two piended dormers located on the outer right and left.
The windows are made of plate glass and feature four-pane timber sash and case designs, along with rooflights. The building has a grey slate roof with coped stacks and circular cans.
The interior was not seen in 1998. At the rear, there is a rubble carriage house.
