Description

Later 19th century. 2-storey, 24-bay terrace of paired 3-bay houses. Ashlar. Base course (vermiculated to E elevation); 1st floor cill course; cornice; blocking course.

S (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: arched, architraved keyblocked doorpieces to penultimate bays of paired houses; eyebrow cornices; 2-leaf timber doors; fanlights; 2 single windows between at centre; 4 single windows aligned above at 1st floor; canted outer bays (except flat-fronted tripartite bays to Nos 3 and 6).

E (SIDE) ELEVATION: 2-leaf timber door at ground to centre; letterbox fanlight; 3 single windows at 1st floor (blind to outer right).

4-pane timber sash and case windows (plate glass to outer left bay at 1st floor of No 3). Grey slate roof; rooflights; corniced ridge stacks (some removed) and wallhead stack to No 8A; polygonal cans.

INTERIORS: not seen 1998.

BOUNDARY WALLS, GATEPIERS, GATES AND RAILINGS: low coped boundary walls to entrance elevation, high coped boundary walls to rear elevation; cast-iron gatepiers and gates to Nos 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7; later stone gatepiers to Nos 6, iron gate; modern railings to No 7; later gate, gatepiers and boundary wall to No 8. Original railings remain to Nos 1, 5 and left of No 2.
