25 Wellington Square, Ayr

25 Wellington Square in Ayr is an early 19th century, two-storey and basement, three-bay classical house located on a corner site. The exterior features painted harl with painted ashlar dressings, along with band courses at the basement, ground, and first floors. There is a cill course at the first floor, an eaves course, a modillion cornice, a blocking course, and strip margins.

The north elevation, which serves as the entrance, has a central platt that oversails the basement. It includes a corniced, block-pedimented double columnar doorpiece with a two-leaf timber door and flanking glass panels. Above the door, there is a single window aligned at the first floor. The flanking bays feature regular fenestration at the basement, ground, and first floors, with architraved arches at the ground floor and consoled, corniced tripartite windows in the outer bays at the first floor.

The east side elevation also shows regular fenestration at the basement, ground, and first floors, with a central bay that is bipartite and a blind window at the first floor. The central ground floor window has a consoled cornice, and there is a cornice above the central first floor window.

The windows are a combination of plate glass and four-pane timber sash and case. The roof is covered with grey slate and features coped and corniced stacks with circular cans. The interior was not seen in 1998.
