19 Wellington Square, Ayr

19 Wellington Square in Ayr is an early 19th century, two-storey house with a basement and attic, featuring three bays in a classical style. The building is constructed of painted ashlar and includes a ground floor band course, eaves course, cornice, blocking course, and strip quoins. The window openings have painted margins.

The north elevation, which serves as the entrance, has a central stepped platform that overhangs the basement. It features a corniced, block-pedimented doorpiece with a timber door and a letterbox fanlight above it. There is a single window directly above on the first floor, with a timber door below it at the basement level. The flanking bays have regular fenestration across the basement, ground, and first floors. The attic includes three piended dormers.

The windows are predominantly 12-pane timber sash and case, with the upper pane sash only at the ground floor. The attic windows have 16 panes, while the basement features textured plate glass. The roof is covered with grey slate and has coped stacks with circular cans.

The interior was not seen in 1998. The basement area and stepped platform are enclosed by ashlar copes topped with iron railings.
