Description
John Murdoch later 19th century. 2-storey, 6-bay L-plan tenement on corner site. Coursed, squared sandstone. Base course; eaves course; cornice; part-chamfered corner to S and E elevation. Architraves to S elevation window openings; bracketed cills to E elevation window openings.
S (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: steps to architraved and corniced doorpieces to 3rd and 5th bays; timber doors; letterbox fanlights to both; single window aligned above at 1st floor to 5th bay only. Bipartite windows at ground and 1st floor to outer and central bays (smaller window opening at 1st floor to right of central bay); additional bay of single windows to penultimate bay to left.
E (FORT STREET) ELEVATION: 6-bay. Arched, consoled cavetto-splayed doorpiece to 4th bay rising to gabled wallhead chimney; timber door; fanlight; single windows flanking at ground and 1st floor; bipartite windows flanking to 2nd and 6th bays; single windows at ground and 1st floor to left; gabled wallhead chimney to outer left.
Predominantly plate glass timber sash and case windows. Grey slate roof (piended to corner); stone skews; coped ridge and wallhead stacks; circular cans.
INTERIORS: not seen 1998.
