Description
16 Barns Street is an early 19th century, two-storey house with an attic, forming part of a terrace. The house is finished in painted render and features an eaves course, cornice, blocking course, and strip quoin on the right side only. The openings have painted margins.
On the south elevation, there is a central block with a pedimented and corniced doorpiece that includes a triglyph frieze. The entrance has a two-leaf timber door with a letterbox fanlight above it. There is a single window directly above the entrance on the first floor, with additional single windows flanking both the ground and first floors. The attic features two piended dormers on the outer right and left sides.
The windows are plate glass timber sash and case. The roof is covered with grey slate and includes stone skews, a rooflight, coped stacks, and circular cans.
The interior was not seen in 1998.
