Description
19 Barns Street in Ayr is a later 19th-century, two-storey, three-bay mirrored house that is part of a terrace. The building features polished ashlar stonework, with the ground floor rusticated. It has a vermiculated base course, a dividing band course, a first-floor cill course, a cornice, and a blocking course. The first-floor windows have aprons.
On the north elevation, there are steps leading to a three-column fluted doorpiece with timber doors and letterbox fanlights. Above, there are two single windows aligned at the first floor, with tripartite windows flanking both the ground and first floors.
The windows are plate glass timber sash and case. The roof is covered with grey slate, featuring stone skews, coped stacks, and polygonal cans.
The interiors were not seen in 1998.
