Description
This early 19th century, two-storey and attic house is part of a terrace on Barns Street in Ayr. It is constructed from sandstone rubble and features an eaves course, cornice, blocking course, and strip quoin on the right side only. The openings have painted margins.
On the south entrance elevation, there is a central doorpiece with a cornice, block pediment, and pilasters, leading to a timber door with a letterbox fanlight. Flanking the door are single windows at the ground floor, with regular fenestration on the first and attic floors.
The ground floor windows are four-pane timber sash and case, while the first floor has two-pane upper sashes. The attic windows have modern glazing. The house is topped with a grey slate roof, featuring stone skews and coped stacks.
The interior was not seen in 1998.
