Description
26 The Green in Swinton is a single-storey, three-bay cottage dating from the later 18th century, with some later alterations. It is part of a terrace that faces the green and features painted harl with painted margins.
On the southwest elevation, which serves as the entrance, there is a boarded timber door located in a bay that is offset to the left of center. To the outer left, there is a single window, and the remaining bays to the right each have a single window as well.
The northeast elevation was not visible during the inspection in 1998. The cottage predominantly has four-pane glazing in timber sash and case windows, although there is a modern window on the outer right. The roof is covered with grey slate and features raised skews, along with corniced brick ridge stacks topped with circular cans.
The interior was not seen during the inspection in 1998.
