Description
21 The Green in Swinton is a later 18th-century cottage with later additions and alterations. It is a single-storey, 5-bay structure that is part of a terrace facing the village green. The exterior features dry dashed walls with painted margins and projecting cills.
On the northwest (entrance) elevation, there is a part-glazed timber panelled door that is offset to the left of centre. To the outer left, there is a bipartite window with a timber mullion, while the remaining three bays to the right have single windows.
The southeast (rear) elevation includes a conservatory addition at ground level and a large box dormer above. The front features 4-pane glazing in timber sash and case windows, while the rear has modern windows. The roof is steeply pitched and covered with grey slate, with a raised skew to the northeast. There are brick ridge and apex stacks, although the circular can at the centre is missing.
The interior was not seen in 1998.
