Walled Garden, Mordington House

The Walled Garden at Mordington House is likely from the early 19th century, with later additions and alterations. It was originally a rectangular-plan garden, approximately 3,200 square meters, featuring rubble walls with curved corners. The garden was later extended to the south, creating a near L-plan layout of about 6,400 square meters. The tall, rubble-coped walls enclose the garden to the north and east, while the wall to the west has arched coping and sweeps to the south. Low walls partially enclose the extended area to the south and southwest. There is a U-plan seating alcove located to the south. Access to the garden is provided by boarded timber doors on the north and west sides, and timber gates on the east side. A modern tennis court has been added to the northwest, and a modern pond has been formed to the south. Some remnants of the formal layout are still visible. Additionally, there is a single-storey, mono-pitched, rubble-built potting shed attached to the outer elevation of the west wall.
