Description

Sir Robert Lorimer, 1921; Mercat Cross type. Square shaft

surmounted by cross, on pedestal with niche containing

statue of St George (sculptor C d'O Pilkington Jackson) set

on stepped base with octagonal balustraded parapet surround,

each face containing a tablet with inscribed names of the

fallen. Dwarf wall to Bridge Street with moulded cope, and

wrought-iron rail between piers.
