Description
Turret House, located at 8 Abbey Court in Kelso, dates back to 1678 and has undergone later alterations. This two-storey building features four bays and includes a large round stair-tower that projects from the left-hand centre bay. The stair-tower rises above the eaves and is corbelled to a square shape at the attic level, which has a window and a crowstepped gable on the front. The entrance is on the north face of the tower, providing access to both the stair and the ground floor, where a second door is marked with the date 1678.
