Description
The garden walls and terrace walls, along with the gate piers of Ednam House Hotel on Bridge Street in Kelso, were built in 1845. They feature tall, rugged ashlar walls topped with flagged coping and have a brick lining on the inner face. The gate piers are square in plan, made of polished ashlar, and are adorned with a dentil cornice and shallow pyramidal cappings. The entrance is marked by elaborate decorative iron gates, and there are pedestrian doors in the flanking walls that have raised surrounds.
