Description

27 and 29 Bridge Street in Kelso is a three-storey building dating from around 1870. It features two bays on the upper floors and a three-bay shop at the ground floor. The shop has a central door flanked by cast-iron Ionic pilasters, with unorthodox Tuscan pilasters at each end. Above the shop, there is a fascia and a balustraded parapet that continues with the parapets at Nos 21, 23, and 25 to the north. The building is constructed of coursed squared rubble with polished dressings, and it has a slated roof that slopes to the north, along with a rendered stack.
