Description
31 Bridge Street in Kelso is a three-storey building dating from around 1870. It features three bays that follow the curve of the road. The ground floor includes a three-bay shop with a central door flanked by cast-iron Ionic pilasters. There is a continuous fascia above, which has been modernised to align with the fascia of Nos 27 and 29 to the north. The ends of the building are adorned with unorthodox Tuscan pilasters, and there is a door to the right that is also flanked by pilasters. The exterior is constructed of coursed squared rubble with polished dressings, and the gable facing Abbey Court is harled. The roof is slated with straight skews.
