Description
Abbey House is an earlier 19th century villa located on Bridge Street in Kelso. This two-storey building with a basement features three bays and faces north. The central entrance door is approached by steps that have coped parapets, and there is a gabled hood above the door. The exterior is harled with painted ashlar margins, and the roof is slated with a piended design, featuring rectangular stacks at the flanks, although the upper parts have been rebuilt. The basement windows have been altered and enlarged. The forecourt is enclosed by a dwarf wall with rectangular corniced gatepiers aligned with the entrance and to the right, while the railings and gates are modern. There is also a single-storey garage attached to the west wall.
