Gate Piers, Senwick House

Senwick House is an early 19th-century villa featuring two storeys, an attic, and a basement, with significant early 20th-century additions to the west. The exterior has rendered walling that mimics ashlar, smooth rusticated quoins, and windows with raised painted margins and bold voussoirs.

The northern entrance elevation has three bays and a central gabled porch, which is a later addition, with deeply overhanging eaves. The doorpiece is corniced and consoled, featuring a round-arched doorway with a semi-circular fanlight and double-leaf panelled doors. The windows are single light, with the central first-floor window being bipartite. All windows are sash and case with 12-pane glazing.

The rear elevation is symmetrical and similarly detailed, showcasing a bold centre mullion and some windows with plate glass glazing. It has an eaves cornice and a bipartite dormer at the centre. The roof is piended slate with a tall pair of corniced axial stacks topped with octagonal cans.

The interior has undergone many alterations, including the subdivision of some rooms and the removal of some cornices. To the right, there is a large early 20th-century recessed square wing that has two storeys and an attic, featuring harled walling, mainly with bipartite windows and 4-pane glazing.

The property is also marked by a pair of rusticated sandstone gatepiers topped with ball finials.
