Description
This late 19th century hotel is a two-storey building with a symmetrical four-bay front. It features rubble walling accented by contrasting pale grey granite margins and rusticated quoins. The central two bays are advanced and have a pair of doorways at ground level, which include panelled doors and a fanlight. Flanking these doors are tripartite windows. The four first-floor windows are single light, all sash and case with 8-pane lying-pane glazing.
The hotel has piended and platform slate roofs that step forward over the central bays, with deep timber bracketed eaves. There are two large canted flat-roofed dormers, dating from the early 20th century, which have metal framed windows and lying-pane glazing, positioned beside a smaller central timber dormer. The building has tall end stacks with granite quoins. To the rear, there is a large rendered single-storey addition.
