Description

46 Bridge Street in Kelso is a building dated 1873. It is three storeys high, with a shop located on the ground floor and a single bay facing Bridge Street. The ground floor features an Ionic pilastrade that continues from the adjacent buildings at numbers 40-44, and it matches the levels of the cill-courses and eaves on the upper floors. To the right, there is a channelled giant order pilaster strip. The building has a dentil cornice, and the south elevation displays set-back quarter-round angles at the corners of Bridge Street and Abbey Row, along with a large central corbelled stack and a piended slated roof.
