Description
The garden walls and gates at Llantarnam Abbey are constructed from ashlar stone and feature low walls topped with roll-mould coping. There are occasional small pedestrian gates made of Gothic cast iron, positioned between stone piers that have cross-gabled caps and squat octagonal finials. Each gateway is flanked by pierced stone square panels on either side. There is one gate on the north side, one on the long east side, and one on the south side, which connects to the forecourt walls that are listed separately. The southeast and southwest corners have angled bastions with pierced square panels, and each bastion contains a statue that is also listed separately.
