Description
The bridge on the drive at Llantarnam Abbey is a road bridge constructed over a stream, made of tooled sandstone. It features a single arch on each side, with panelled cusped ashlar spandrels and a grotesque mask keystone above the segmental arch. A moulded string course is present, which breaks forward over the keystone. The bridge has a high parapet with roll-moulded coping. The ends of the parapet are turned out to form octagonal end piers, with the parapet roll-moulding scrolling out on the caps.
