Description

Dated 1682, restored 1983. 3-bay, 3-storey house. Rectangular-plan with projecting semi-circular stair tower to N. Rendered and painted to street; light render over random rubble to other elevations. Painted quoins. Raised and chamfered ashlar margins to windows.

N (MAIN) ELEVATION: stair tower at centre. Broad door on W return; moulded chamfered surround with marriage lintel inscribed 16 IF ID 82; escutcheon above. 2 windows light turnpike stair, upper one smaller. Regular fenestration to each floor in flanking bays. 2nd floor windows directly under eaves.

W ELEVATION: gabled rubble with lime wash. Narrow window at corner left. Blocked window at 2nd floor corner right.

E ELEVATION: small window at 1st floor, blocked window above.

S ELEVATION: rubble; door at centre, regular fenestration. Low single-storey service additions to outer bays.

Replacement timber sash and case windows with 12-pane glazing pattern. Grey slate roof, ashlar coped skews, squared and corniced end stacks.
