Description

19 and 20 East Terrace is a three-storey, three-bay dwelling house built around 1800, with later alterations. The exterior is made of droved ashlar and features a base course, raised margins, an eaves course, and a moulded eaves cornice.

The north elevation has a symmetrical facade with a central doorpiece that includes Doric pilasters, fluted bands, and a deep, plain entablature. The entrance has a double-leaf panelled door topped by a three-light fanlight. The windows are arranged in a regular pattern, with the second-floor windows being square in proportion.

The east elevation has an adjoining building at the left bay and a window in the right bay on the first and second floors.

The south elevation features a turnpike stair tower with an entrance door and windows on each floor. There are additional windows on each floor in the left bay next to the tower, as well as attic windows in both the right and left bays.

The west elevation is a blind gable end.

The ground and first floors have 12-pane sash and case windows, while the second floor has 6-pane sash and case windows, all of which are recent alterations. The roof is slate with straight skews and ashlar stacks at the gableheads.

The interior was not seen in 2000.
